        At the out set IGP G & HR and Organising Secretary AIPDM 2008 informed that the DG & IGP had accepted the proposal of the Chairman, All India Police Sports Control Board to conduct AIPDM-2008 in Karnataka.  The AIPDM will be held from 3.1.09 to 10.1.09.  Joining instructions have been sent to the concerned and various committees have been formed.

DG & IGP said that the particular Duty Meet was held in Bangalore only a couple of years earlier.  There was a request from Intelligence Bureau, New Delhi and after consulting some officers he had agreed to host this Duty Meet once again.  This meet is confined to scientific aid to investigation, professional photography, videography, Anti-sabotage check etc.,  Now itself we should start preparing for the meet.  All the committees formed have independent jobs.  He further stressed that Organising Secretary post is very important and all have to give back up support.  He asked Sri N.S.Megharikh, IPS to offer his service to him for which he agreed.  DG & IGP informed that last time Duty Meet Budget was Rs.28,55,000/- and expenditure was only Rs.22,00,000/-.  A grant was given by All India Police Sports Control Board and the State Government.  Out of the total amount we could save about Rs.3 to 4 lakhs and the same was deposited in Benevolent Fund.  The Budget committee has to give an estimate and the Secretary will put up a letter to government to get some grants.  Last time KSPHC also contributed some money.  We should make arrangements for another Rs.30 lakhs. He instructed not to make bulky mementos, and mementos should be simple.  He also suggested that like last time an Police IT related exhibition be held during this period.
